Setting the Scene on Sofa Styling

It feels like quite a contradiction that the summer in Dubai is a time of hibernation or rather estivation (estivation is like hibernation except it takes place during the hot weather), well in fairness, for most of the day, it has to be, it's getting hot! For those not escaping the summer heat, 'staying in' is the only remedy! We shouldn't feel guilty about estivation; the cleverest of animals do it, and it's ok for us humans, too (obviously, to some degree, life still goes on, right?). Estivation truly is a clever survival mechanism, and you need an excellent sofa to do it properly.

When choosing a sofa for your home, the bottom line is to choose a quality piece; investing in a good sofa will give you years of comfort. Indeed, it's an investment not only for your home but also for your comfort. Choose a sofa that will not date; a classic yet contemporary sofa will act as a blank canvas for your chosen scheme.
Gone are the days when we sought after a polished look with matching cushions, plumped and placed strategically (way too much matching for my liking); now, we desire a much more relaxed and informal look that is inviting and fresh.
Your sofa is the epicentre of your living room. Your sofa is where you kick back and relax, most probably to your favourite Netflix picks or when having a good chat with a friend; it's where you watch a Disney movie cuddled down with your little one tucked underneath your arm; it's where Thursday night happens for those of us who love our home comforts. Mid-week, a friend of mine frequently drops by for a chat and a coffee; she places herself on my sofa, feet tucked up underneath her legs (shoes of f, of course), and I love it; it makes me feel my home or, more importantly, my sofa invites her to just do that!
More often than not, the sofa is the first thing that's likely to grab a guest's attention; it surely catches my attention after a long day. Think straight lines, structured where it needs to be and soft and comfy where it has to be; this is the winning formula when choosing a sofa. Sofas like this tend to be timeless and lend themselves to any setting. A classic yet contemporary sofa with little fuss, clean lines and generous propositions will fit many different styles. A sofa is an item in our homes that tends to hang around long after we have gone through our second or third room makeover; choosing the right one is essential.
A sofa is more about our human needs than our aesthetics. The sofas at Blanc D'ivoire Dubai tick both of these boxes, and I will let you in on a little secret, too…. they are not that expensive!
Check out all the beautiful living room settings in Blanc D'ivoire Dubai; it's like hanging out at a friend's home; you can even put your feet up and shoes off, of course!
