This year's festive trend is all about styling with an emphasis on winter, with just enough Christmas thrown in! Home and Soul have many cute decorations and trinkets to get this look just right, so with that in mind…... Happy December! Welcome to the time of the year when friends and family get tangled in blinking Christmas tree lights, crazily shopping for bunting, bows and bells. Well, my top tip is to decorate with stylish and chic pieces instead of going bananas on bells & bows and tacky on tinsel.
Elegant baubles never go out of fashion and can easily be incorporated into any colour scheme if you feel the urge to change it up next year, as we all do from time to time; some of us like to do it more often than others (oh dear!!) It is believed that the first baubles started to hang on trees in the mid-1500s; they really haven't changed a whole lot since then as the simplest balls are the most successful; simple elegance is what it's all about, and of course, a bit of glitter glam thrown.
Equally, I am a big advocate for using pieces you already have in your home by mixing, grouping and styling new and old. A neutral colour scheme will blend beautifully with any interior. Pieces that are elegant, simple and natural are crucial to achieving a welcoming look for evenings of festive cheer. This year is about enhancing your interior, not changing it to a themed Santa's grotto (although that is cute, too). Choose pieces with personality so when you open those boxes again next year, you will fall in love with these pieces all over again. Think outside the box and create a delightful winter atmosphere.
Placement is so important when it comes to seasonal styling; incorporating textured finishes in cushions and throws adds that warmth during the winter season, although in comparison to other parts of the world, it's still roasting here in Dubai, but we still love that nostalgic feeling that we aspire to recreate at this time of year. Decorative accessories such as candle sticks and tea light holders are a nice finishing touch when entertaining in style this holiday season. That 'glow' is essential to get you in the mood for the holiday season. Nothing is more romantic and charming than a room lit by candlelight. Invest in many candles in various shapes and sizes to truly embrace the power of the warming glow of candlelight. Home and Soul have covered an area; whether scented or unscented, a whole new feel can be created.
Nothing gets you in the mood for this festive season like shopping, right? Drop by Home and Soul if you are looking for decorations that will help you create a seasonably stylish home that will feel warm and welcoming for family and friends.
